San Antonio’s Cultural Story-a look at 2016

Throughout 2016, OHP staff participated in several collaborative initiatives to capture and tell San Antonio’s cultural story, from the city’s people and traditions, to the many stories buildings tell.

As part of the World Heritage work team which included staff from several city departments, OHP  helped capture stories of the World Heritage area through oral histories, mapping, photographic installations and a survey of over 700 buildings along the S. Presa and Roosevelt corridors. OHP also assisted in projects led by Parks and Recreation, Department of Arts and Culture and community based organizations to collect the stories of Travis Park, Brackenridge Park and the Sunken Gardens. Ending the year with a community charrette, in conjunction with the AIA, and Council Districts 1 and 4, to discuss the future of the Malt House site, OHP engaged in multiple cross-platform collaborations to perpetuate the City’s rich cultural resources. Enjoy this photographic year end review!
